The Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law, University of Vienna, participated in this year’s Lange Nacht der Forschung 2026 (“Long Night of Research 2026”), Austria’s largest science, research, and innovation event.

The AISN project was presented to the general public; a valuable opportunity for us to connect with curious minds of all ages and backgrounds, and to showcase the work our team has been dedicated to.

On 23 February 2026, the AISN project held its 2nd Review Meeting with the European Commission in a full-day online session, marking an important milestone in the project’s implementation.

The feedback received will support AISN’s continued efforts to advance AI-driven solutions for stroke neurorehabilitation.

As we move into 2026, the AISN project is entering a phase where innovation converges with real-world use.

At this stage, we are integrating the final components of the AISN platform and running the clinical trial to evaluate it in real rehabilitation settings.

During the latest AISN Executive Board (ExBo) meeting, partners shared updates on the progress of their working packages and discussed preparations for the upcoming Review Meeting with the European Commission.

The discussions helped refine the project’s strategic direction, fostering collaboration and alignment among all partners. This meeting underscored the Board’s commitment to guiding AISN toward its scientific and operational milestones.

The AISN partners met for their 8th General Assembly, a two-day meeting focused on project progress and upcoming milestones. Discussions covered the status of all working packages and the overall timeline, with special attention to the ongoing clinical trial phase.

The AISN project is strengthening its communication activities through a coordinated social media campaign, as part of its efforts to connect research with real-world impact.

Our partner Poeiti Abi Saab (University of Limoges) participated in the EUPeace Conference 2025 (22–24 September, Pilsen), contributing to the Research Hub on Inclusive Health and Well-Being. Her presentation, “Artificial Intelligence–Based Home Rehabilitation for Post-Stroke Patients: Usability, Expectations, Fears and Needs Analysis in the AISN Framework”, highlighted how AISN is advancing user-centred, AI-supported neurorehabilitation.

We are pleased to share that AISN was included in a web-based “metaverse” platform presented by our partner Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD) as part of their annual Innovation Day. Through the virtual space, visitors could explore all the innovation projects managed by IRSJD, including AISN’s work in neurorehabilitation and AI-based care.

This digital showcase demonstrates how AISN and IRSJD leverage cutting-edge technology and immersive environments to present and promote health-tech innovation.

During the meeting, all work groups presented their achievements. The AISN partners focused on the clinical trial definitions and preparations. The clinicians highlighted the national and individual requirements to integrate the AISN system in a clinical setting.

The clinical trial should start as planned in all hospitals.

The first face-to-face meeting of the entire consortium. The partners discussed the scientific progress and made decisions on strategic developments.

The project started successfully. During the meeting, all work groups presented their achievements. Several newly hired project members presented their work. All AISN partners are highly engaged.

Within the II Innovation Day of PSSJD, the PSSJD team presented the AISN project to an audience of 87 healthcare professionals, managers and representatives of other hospitals.
